This month, we’re showcasing a beautifully crafted coffee from Guatemala.

Grown at elevations of 1,450 – 1,600 metres, this coffee comes from the Nueva Granada farm, run by Johann Nottebohm and his wife Holly. With roots dating back to 1894, the Nottebohm family has spent generations refining their approach to coffee, combining tradition with a constant drive for quality, sustainability, and innovation.

At Nueva Granada, attention to detail is everything. Cherries are selectively hand-picked at peak ripeness, with up to 15 passes per harvest – far more than most farms – ensuring only the very best fruit is chosen. From there, the coffee undergoes an exceptionally rigorous washed process, including multiple flotation stages, careful fermentation, and both mechanical and hand sorting to guarantee clarity and consistency in every cup.

In the cup, this coffee is smooth, balanced, and deeply satisfying. Expect gentle apple-like acidity, complemented by rich chocolate and toffee sweetness, all carried by a rounded, approachable body. It’s clean and comforting, with just enough complexity to keep things interesting.
