Origin Of Guatemala Todosantarita Coffee
Guatemala Todosantarita coffee originates from the high-altitude region of Todos Santos Cuchumatán, nestled within the stunning Cuchumatán mountains. This area is renowned for its unique microclimate, which provides the perfect conditions for growing high-quality Guatemalan coffee beans. With altitudes ranging from 1,350 to 1,650 metres above sea level, the cool climate and volcanic soil contribute to developing complex flavours and aromatic profiles.
Situated in the picturesque region of La Libertad, Huehuetenango, the coffee estate known as La Bolsa is renowned for its consistent quality and rich history. Purchased in 1956 by Dr. Jorge Vides Molina, the estate has become a benchmark for premium coffee production in Guatemala.
The name “La Bolsa,” meaning “The Bag,” aptly describes its unique geographical location nestled between two mountains and flanked by two rivers, which bisect the property to form a natural island. This idyllic setting is where you’ll find the heart of the estate: the mill, farmhouse, school, and drying patios.
The farmers in Huehuetenango take immense pride in their craft, dedicating themselves to cultivating coffee that meets the highest standards. The unique microclimate and rich soil of La Bolsa create the perfect environment for growing high-quality coffee beans, contributing to the estate’s esteemed reputation.
Through generations of expertise and a commitment to sustainable farming practices, the coffee produced at La Bolsa offers a rich and distinctive flavour profile that captivates coffee enthusiasts worldwide.
