Honduras Women’s Project
This single-origin Honduran speciality coffee is an organic coffee that boasts rich dark chocolate, stone fruit, and toffee notes with subtle hints of almond. This is an sweet and full-bodied coffee with a great aroma!
We love drinking this coffee as an espresso, but it is a flexible coffee that can be brewed however you like. It particularly makes a great pour over, too!
About Honduran Coffee Beans
Sourced from the lush highlands of Honduras and cultivated with care by over 400 women farmers, Honduras Women’s Project (NKG Bloom Gea SHG EP Organic) is more than just coffee; it’s a tribute to strength, sustainability, and community. Grown at altitudes between 1,100–1,650 masl across the regions of Lempira, Ocotepeque, Intibucá, Copán, La Paz, El ParaÃso, and Comayagua, this certified organic coffee is cultivated on small farms led by women who are reshaping the future of Honduran coffee.
This fully washed coffee is a mix of IH90, Catuai, Caturra, Lempira and Bourbon varietals and delivers a cup that is beautifully balanced and deeply satisfying. Expect tasting notes of almond, toffee, and dark chocolate, making it a smooth and indulgent choice for any coffee lover.
Behind every bean is the story of perseverance. These women, many of whom are part of the COMIPRONIL and CAUFUL cooperatives, rose from the devastation of the 2012 coffee rust epidemic. Through the Recuperando mi Cafetal (Recovering My Coffee Farm) initiative – now part of the NKG Bloom program – they’ve rebuilt their farms with sustainable practices, biofertilizers, and disease-resistant plants, ensuring quality and longevity in every harvest.
The name Gea (pronounced hay-uh), inspired by the Greek goddess of the Earth, reflects the vital role these women play – not only in coffee farming but in nurturing their communities and the land. From planting fruit and timber trees to create thriving microclimates, to mentoring one another in harvest and milling techniques, their attention to detail brings exceptional complexity to every cup.
Honduras NKG Bloom Gea SHG EP Organic isn’t just a delicious coffee. It’s a celebration of resilience, empowerment, and the unwavering spirit of women in coffee.

Origin of Honduras Coffee Beans
Coffee has been a central part of Honduran culture and its economy for over two centuries. The initial introduction of coffee into Honduras is attributed to traders and travellers who brought the precious seeds from the neighbouring countries in the 18th century.
Nestled in the heart of Central America, the unique combination of Honduras’ fertile soil, high altitude, and tropical climate offers the perfect conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee. The country’s coffee production primarily occurs in regions such as Copán, Montecillos, Agalta, Comayagua, and El Paraiso.
Honduran coffee beans are known for its rich flavour profile, often exhibiting notes of caramel, cocoa, and tropical fruits. Despite its high-quality beans, Honduran coffee remained in the shadows of its neighbouring countries’ more famous coffee productions for many years.
However, in recent times, the wonderful taste and quality of Honduras coffee have gained global recognition, making it one of the most sought-after coffee origins in the world.

This is one that has sneaked up on me, having tried it on and off over the months, but now it’s one that I’m more likely to hang on to if I start running low on coffee supplies. Nice complexity to the flavours but all in harmony. Love it.

I am enjoying trying different coffees from around the world! Honduras Liquidámbar is great as a black coffee and I certainly picked up the orange, chocolate and nutmeg notes making it a really delicious and satisfying drink. Where next on my journey?

Recommended by a local barista some two years ago and I haven’t drunk any other coffee since. Reminds me of my youthful trips to my local Kardomah coffee bar. It has put a twinkle in an old man’s eye!!!!

I love coffee from central America. There must be something on the water or in the soil in which the plants grow that tantalises my pallet. This is probably my favourite of all Central American coffees. But i have never had a bad coffee from iron and Fire so maybe it is their roasting techniques. Whatever the reason. WOW!

This is mine and my boyfriends’ favourite coffee. Had it as the Santa’s Bean and have kept drinking it ever since. 10/10!
