Why choose South American Coffees?
South American coffees such as Brazilian and Colombian coffees are generally well known for their medium body and smooth sweet tastes which make them among our personal favourites. They are not too acidic and often boast classic tasting notes such as chocolatey, smooth, caramel and nutty. Of course, these flavours are diverse and wide depending on the many factors and nuances of the growing conditions, geographical environment and processing methods.
South America is the world’s largest producer of coffee and for good reason: not only does the region have perfect conditions but the size of the areas in which coffee is farmed means there is more opportunity to find subtle regional variations in flavour profiles. The main producing countries here are Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela.
